We go to the market
so you don't have to.
We don't keep a warehouse. What you see here is what's at the market today, and nothing is bought until you've ordered it. Then one of our shoppers buys it for you, item by item, and a rider brings it to your door.
- No warehouse
- We only buy what's been ordered
- Priced at checkout
- What you pay doesn't change with the market
- Market measures
- Olonka and bunch, not shrink-wrap
What happens to your order
Every order goes through these steps. Your order page shows which one it has reached and what happened to each item.
You order and pay
Pick from what's at the market today and pay by Mobile Money or card. The delivery fee comes from the distance and the size of your order, and you see it before you pay.
A shopper takes your order
Once your payment is confirmed, a shopper is given your list. Orders placed outside market hours go into the next morning's shopping.
Each item is bought, or not
The shopper marks every item as bought, partly found or unavailable, and your order page updates as they go. Nothing gets swapped for something else.
Anything missing is refunded
If an item can't be found, or only some of it, you're refunded for what wasn't bought. The service fee is adjusted to match.
A rider brings it
When the shopping is done we arrange a rider. Their name and phone number appear on your order page.
You confirm it arrived
Tap to confirm you received your order. If something is damaged, wrong or missing, report it from the same page with a photo and we'll look into it.
About the olonka
Many things here are sold by the olonka, the tin measure traders use for grains and beans. It measures volume, not weight, which is why an olonka of gari and an olonka of beans don't weigh the same.
We kept it, and the rest of the market's units with it. Converting everything to kilograms would make the catalogue tidier and the shopping stranger.
- olonka
- Gari, beans, maize, onions
- bunch
- Plantain
- tuber
- Yam
- paint bucket
- Tomatoes in bulk
- sack
- 25kg rice
- crate
- Eggs
- ball
- Corn and cassava dough
What we won't do
Swap your items without asking
If something you ordered isn't at the market, it comes off your order and you're refunded for it. We don't put something similar in its place and hope you won't notice.
Charge you for what we couldn't buy
Items that weren't bought are refunded in full, and the service fee is worked out again on what was actually bought.
Change the price after you pay
Market prices move from day to day. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay, and if the market is dearer that morning, we cover the difference.
